INSPIRING THE NEXT GENERATION OF TEACHERS
WHY TRAIN WITH NTTP?
WHAT IS A SCITT?
A SCITT is a school-led course which leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). It is a training provider which is based exclusively in a school rather in a university department of education. As a result of this, the course provided by a SCITT gives trainees the chance to learn their teaching craft in a school environment almost exclusively with school based acting practitioners. This is different to university-led equivalents, in which trainees spend time in university education departments on placement. You will still learn the theory that you need, but you will have more opportunities to put it into practice.
WHO CAN TRAIN TO TEACH?
We encourage applications from all spheres of the community regardless of age, race, disability, religion and gender. NTTP is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all trainees to share this commitment.
WHY NTTP?
We are graded as an Ofsted Outstanding provider of Secondary ITT in all areas. We have an outstanding track record of course completion rates, with 100% of trainees successfully gaining Qualified Teacher Status. 100% of trainees have secured employment in the last three years, with the majority securing teaching posts in local schools. We have an excellent reputation within Northamptonshire and the surrounding vicinity. We provide our trainees with stimulating and relevant professional studies sessions as well as a thorough Induction process and constant professional guidance.
WHAT DO WE OFFER?
We offer a one year full-time Secondary (11-16) teacher training course. At the end of the training year, trainees will obtain dual awards of PGCE and QTS if they successfully pass both qualifications. Our Post Graduate Certificate in Education is validated by Newman University, Birmingham who have an established reputation for producing quality teachers. They focus on interactive teaching, personal wellbeing and high academic achievement. Almost all trainees who successfully achieve both QTS and PGCE, gain employment in local schools, which is a huge strength of the partnership.
